When I saw "The Killer-Critic assassinated by his Widower, Even" besides relating the title with Duchamp's Large glass (the bride stripped bare by her bachelor, even) I imediately related this particular work with the painting recovered by Degas which is suposedly painted by Edouard Manet (1867-68) which is called the execution of Maximilian (the french influence in the other side of the Atlantic in mexico for Napoleon and America for Duchamp).
